We don't take low level sciences/labs because we think criminal justice majors need to memorize chemical equations, but instead get introduced to and practice that style of thinking.
Is it too much to ask to get a criminal justice degree without having to also be required to spend $800 to balance chemical equations for some reason? The election valence of Mercury is irrelevant. It’s useful to someone, but it’s not useful to me.

Such a lazy article that I wouldn't be surprised if it's just copy pasted whenever it goes above a certain level. "Hey did you guys hear about taxes?"

My theory is that the best examples of masculinity are generally guys that do not talk about masculinity. Instead they do, learn, and teach about other things, which make them happy, fulfilled and most importantly, interesting! As soon as masculinity starts being thrown around, I'll stop listening.
Yes where else could men possibly receive this scorching insight

Even by the standards of anti-woke journalism this is lazy dreck. The first piece of "evidence" that older gamers are mad about wokeness is a random Reddit comment — that isn't a complaint about wokeness.

Even in THEIR OWN AD, Charlie at the end looks like he’s thinking, “This is sad and weird.” Promising people you can prevent feelings of loss is not only ridiculous; it’s perverse. Sad things and happy things need each other. This company is promising numbness.
This is possibly the most fucked thing I've ever seen but also the bit at the end where the grandmother is straight up being tricked into providing training content for the app feels particularly revealing.
Nightmarish idea for a startup tbh

I continue to think that one of the reasons this country is falling apart is the wholesale abandonment of public virtue as a broadly shared aspiration. Or even something people should be embarrassed about if they don’t have it.

Even if you grant the stupid premise, kirk created lists to censor professors for their speech. What are we even doing here

It is mind boggling how many journalists say he was a free speech defender. He wasn't! He just thought a lot of his abhorrent views were correct! He very openly tried to curb speech against his views!
These people have smarted themselves into the dumbest fucking arguments.

Determining whether someone is "doing politics the right way" depends almost entirely on the content of their speech! If someone lies constantly and endorses authoritarians that's not practicing good politics.

I would really hate to be a service worker now, where just doing your job can be turned into content for a shitty social media account. I'm sure it doesn't happen super often, but every time I see one online I cringe a little for the poor worker
Our society built a panopticon that any of us can use against any other at will. The question of what should be filmed and uploaded is, ultimately, a judgment call, one that every user of TikTok or Instagram now gets to make.

This is a really good article (the defector is killing it). The theory that minor league teams underutilize the venue assets they hold may be true, but in order to maximize that we'll likely see more flight to larger metro areas. That is disappointing.

Really gross framing of the Supreme Court's shitty decision. The alternative, when a Republican supermajority discriminates against you is to what? Somehow it is always the liberal's fault for conservative abuses.
