The majority of all law of the sea cases today are decided by the Int‘l Tribunal for the Law of the Sea - even when they initially began as arbitration cases. There could be no greater sign of trust States have in the jurisprudence, but also the efficiency of ITLOS.
Honored to host Judge Tomas Heidar, President of the Int'l Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) for an overview over the Tribunal's advisory opinions and a reflection on their impact of the int'l law of the sea.
