everybody (i include myself in this) is a bit tolerant of lying in politics as long as they believe they are the savvy ones in on the lie and that the lie is directed at those other people for noble practical reasons. This is actually bad and we should not encourage this.

Failing to prosecute the architects of J6 from 1/21/2021 on is the prologue to this coming Trump term. That he won legitimately in 2024 is in no small part to the absolute abdication of responsibility on this by Biden's admin. If you don't govern like democracy is at stake voters won't vote like it.
