Fair. Our opposition leader is the ex-employee of our sole newspaper, which is fair and equal of course.

Don't tear them apart or rake them over the coals for making a mistake or not knowing. Not everyone is online 24/7. It's ok to not be right or aligned with what has been determined to be the 'correct path' for everyone.

As someone who lives in a single newspaper state, I lost trust in how Labor leaders are covered there.

Anyhow - if your immediate reaction to someone saying that they liked something but have had enough of it is revulsion or questioning their taste, then maybe you need to check your ego and your privilege.

Films and discussing films should be an invitation, not a way of demeaning those who want to find out more about the art of cinema.

It's part of the reason I really dislike engaging with the male dominant side of film academia here in Australia. It's so often driven from a mindset of exclusivity and as if the only way to talk about film is through academia.

No thanks.

It also then encourages distancing from the FNW. Immerse yourself in a bath of milk too long and you'll shrivel up into nothing. Dip in and out of pools of flavour and suddenly you're experiencing a varied world of delights.

And, when they do expand into other film movements, it's almost always through the lens of how the FNW informed that movement, or how that movement informed FNW. It's a reductive way to view cinema IMO.

It's also partially that the FNW tends to dominate a lot of the cultural conversation about film in certain sections of Australian film and media teaching/discussion. That's fine, but the almost exclusive focus on it is at the detriment to many other film movements around the world.

He has said he has always been uncomfortable with multiculturalism, and had called for Asian migration to stop. He disagrees with people who say racism is a problem in Australia because that hasn’t been his experience. Why would anyone listen to him about social cohesion?!

There's more, but alas, I can't mute text limits on posts.

I should be able to mute the following things:

- America
- Anti-potato talk
- Emails
- Emails from that indoor skydive company I visited once
- Emails from the Texas car service shop who keeps reminding me my car is due for a service
- Sweating
- Summer
- Judgement for bare feet in the office
