Does anyone in Perth know of any rallies to attend? What a shit time of year to do this. A horrible, horrible government.
Today the Queensland government has ignored the overwhelming body of evidence and extended their shameless ban on puberty blockers for trans kids. If you haven't been writing, calling, and showing up to protest, now is the time to start.

Ahhhhhh. Forgot my regular glasses today so it's sunglasses inside at work for me today.

I do really wish that in the midst of so much fucking shit going on 24/7 that there was a little bit more acceptance or understanding of the fallibility of people. If someone is mostly aligned with your values and they make a mistake or were unaware of something and own up to it, then that's ok.

Understanding now why certain film critics got very upset when I said I don't need to re-watch the films of the French New Wave. They've just been published in a book about... The French New Wave.

I never said I didn't like FNW, I've just seen enough of it to not delve into it more.

He has said he has always been uncomfortable with multiculturalism, and had called for Asian migration to stop. He disagrees with people who say racism is a problem in Australia because that hasn’t been his experience. Why would anyone listen to him about social cohesion?!

John Howard pushed for the invasion of Iraq, which was one of the dominoes which created the conditions for ISIS and caused untold human misery we are still dealing with today. He refused to acknowledge racism was a main driver of the Cronulla riots.

I met John Howard once when he abandoned his security and tried to enter a building through an exit door. He was disgruntled by the fact that the door would not take him to where he needed to be, even though it was his fault he was in the wrong place. Nothing changes.

Against the advice of my better half, I might purchase some sandals which are currently 50% off. I won't mention that I've bought them until they arrive and I put them on. Then it'll be too late and I'll have to commit to a sandal life. I just want cool feet.

As a Freo Dockers supporter and member, I'm really hoping that they make the smart choice to get rid of Woodside once their contract is up. I'll be as vocal as I was last time they were reviewing it.
Woodside are expanding fossil fuels during the climate crisis. They have chosen to be the bad guys. We shouldn't let them launder their reputations through our community institutions.

Student & staff members of @stopwoodsidemonash campaigned fearlessly against Woodside's partnership at Monash Uni.

Why do Americans call it 'grilled cheese' and not a 'grilled cheese sandwich'? The sandwich is the functional thing in the equation. When I was young I thought it was literally just grilled cheese so I did just that: cheese under the grill. Ended up with melted cheese which was impossible to eat.

Rather enjoy reading Heather Rose's work. So far, her novels have not been uniform experiences.

Am diving into A Great Act of Love and enjoying it.

It's ok to block Adrian Martin on social media.

While folks are probably expected to have an opinion on the social media ban, I really don't have much of an opinion at all other than to ask whether it's possible for me, a 41 year old, to opt into the ban.

Tina of Tina Has Something on Her Nose has passed away and that's a sad thing. The internet has lost another great dog.

Look at this dog.

This is Theo.

He's not my dog, but he is lovely.

He will walk from the other side of the dog park just for a pat. That's all he wants.

Here he is asking for a pat.
