I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

Go Cory! Go Stanford'91! Respect for @booker.senate.gov
I’ve taken the Senate floor and will speak for as long as I’m physically able to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed and not being heard in this moment of crisis. Watch here:

“Lawyers and big firms: For God’s sake, stand up for the legal profession, and for the Constitution. Defend the oath you took when you became officers of the court. If we stand together and fight, we will win.”

Have never been prouder to be a Cooley alumna. Respect for Cooley, Jenner & Block, Perkins Coie, Williams & Connolly, WilmerHale, and Clement & Murphy and standing up to protect the rule of law.
NEWS: Jenner & Block sued to challenge Trump's executive order in D.C. federal court this morning. They are represented by lawyers from Cooley LLP, and are seeking similar relief to the Perkins Coie challenge.

From an operational security perspective, this is the highest level of fuckup imaginable. These people cannot keep America safe.
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

This is Chuck.

Chuck is selling a book.

Chuck also has a full-time job.

I would consider buying Chuck’s book if he were doing that job, but he’s not.

Don’t be like Chuck.

And don’t buy Chuck’s book.
It gets worse. Schumer isn’t just going on a book tour—he’s charging for tickets.

Absolute insanity. While Americans are scared and in crisis mode, he’s basically saying, let them eat cake.

@schumer.senate.gov Step Down.

I don't want to raise false hopes, but I don't think this is over. If you haven't called your Dem Senators yet today, now's the time.

America was founded on the concept of checks and balances, but Republicans in Congress are bending the knee to those who seek to gut our government from the inside out.

We have the power to stop the cessation of power to Donald Trump and Elon Musk. I urge a no vote on the CR.

I cannot overstate how much I love the fact that Williams & Connolly put *14* individual lawyers’ names in the signature block of their complaint.

W&C is sending a clear message: We are not afraid.

BRAVO.

Lawyers MUST continue to stand up, resist, and protect the rule of law. Respect to Perkins Coie and Williams & Connolly.
NEW: Perkins Coie has hired Williams & Connolly to fight Trump's executive order targeting Perkins.

There had been concern in the legal community about whether major law firms would shy away from the fight out of fear of incurring Trump's wrath.

But Williams & Connolly is considered formidable.

Any four Republican Senators could stop this at any time simply by threatening to block all action (or even caucus with the Democrats) if Trump doesn't make certain concessions.

They won't, but that should be a much bigger story than whether the Democrats are doing everything that *they* can.
