Rock star co-founded cancer charity that helped sign up 250,000 people as stem cell donors
Mike Peters, frontman of the Welsh band The Alarm, has died from blood cancer aged 66.
The rock star, who was forced to cancel a US tour last year after being diagnosed with fast-growing lymphoma, had been undergoing treatment at the Christie NHS foundation trust in Manchester. Continue reading...

So sad about Mike Peters. Lovely man, family friend. The Alarm one of the first bands I saw. Endured anti-Welsh mockery, and not everyone's cuppa (sincere/heartfelt in an age of irony/artifice) but gave it such ATTACK. Same attack Mike gave his fight with cancer. Great early evening album launch gig tonight for Franz Ferdinand at Edinburgh Liquid Rooms. A good mix of new tunes and a few classics mixed in. Only two weeks into 2025 but this has set a high bar for gig of the year already. #gigantics #franzferdinand #indielegends
