there is no one who's not affected
I know there are dimensions of this that are obviously much worse, like poor parents being taken from their children, but there've been so many stories of friends and colleagues in the music world on O-1's that have been deported or laying low abroad amidst pressure and it makes me so fucking angry

not to have a hot take but all the money the government allocates to insuring uninsurable single family houses is what should be spent building sustainable housing and doing actual climate mitigation. Sisyphean that as a society would rather set billions of dollars on fire every few years like this
