Happy birthday, Buxton! He's 2 today, and has just alerted me to a robin on the seed feeder, via little chittering noises and some tail waving.
A fluffy cat with blue and fawn fur lies on a low windowsill. He's looking at the camera with lazy green/yellow eyes. One front paw is tucked under his chest, while the othe legs hangs down, the paw resting lightly on top of a radiator beneath the window.

2 cats are squeezed together into a cat bed on top of a cylinder. One is slate blue, with orange eyes. He has one front leg dangling carelessly out. The other cat is fuzzy is a similar dark blue grey but with fawn on his chest and muzzle and around yellow-green eyes.

I found a (out of focus) photo. The hatch was behind the four central panels; the tv room was on the other side - just off the kitchen. The people live there now removed the panels and the hatch.

This week I made mousse, using locally sourced organic blackberries (ie from my neighbour's neglected garden).
I was very pleased with how it looked in these glasses, so took a pic to show the friend who gave them to me.
The mousse was good too.
Two conical sundae glasses filled with pinky-purple mousse. Each glass has a wide foot: one is green glass and the other is pink. The colours give a pretty, almost floral effect in combination with the mousse.

That looks like a pretty normal cat position to me.

So it turns out that baking powder really does have an expiry date. My lemon drizzle cake looked lovely when I took it out of the oven; golden brown and level.
It just hadn't risen much.
It's still actually quite light & very tasty. All the slices I took to D & D get eaten.

I was wearing the T-shirt and wanted a shirt to go over it in the evening. I don't have anything that goes with it, only things that either look wrong, or clash. So I decided that if I was going to clash, I would clash properly.

My neighbour's buddlia overhangs the path from my gate, so it needs to be cut back at regular intervals. As it's just come into full flower, it seemed a shame to just throw the blooms straight into the bin.

My boys respectfully disagree.

My latest bit of vintage pottery was just delivered, & came with an unexpected free gift.
There is a small ceramic bowl on top of a vintage cream and dark red leather footstool. The bowl has a brown and yellow streaked glaze, rather like flames. Next to it is a plastic wrapped package of 2 Lotus Biscoff biscuits.

Yesterday I remembered that some hotels fold the last sheet of loo roll to make a slanted edge. In a moment of whimsy, I did the same.
My cleaner came later on. I popped into the bathroom after she'd done it, and found she'd one-upped in the fancy loo roll stakes.

I met this pair at a small cat show. In spite of his look, the cat is not a Siamese, but a random cross-breed. He loves to sit on his owner's shoulders, & his owner is happy to show him off.
10/10 for the cat

Went to the garden centre today, and couldn't resist getting one of the confused chickens. On her own, she looks more inquisitive, but with several, the flock looked deeply confused.

I finally broke out the #Bayko building set I got a few years ago. I even found a converter set last year, so I can build bigger things.
Bayko predates Lego; it has moulded architectural bricks which slot around wire rods. I love the aesthetic & colours.

I love how the shiny circles on the fence look today. The pinky ones are just reflecting the colour (more or less) of the clean laundry hanging nearby, but it's very pretty.
