Not only is this great but it led me to your other playlists which are also rad. I always dig a well curated playlist and love when I can listen to it in order. It gets it a little closer to the mixtape/CD mixes of yore.

On my @letterboxd.social watchlist now! Travis @aheartofgould.bsky.social called this a "Cassavetes castlevania of toxic love and vampiric sex" which not only makes me want to watch it immediatley but displays in a phrase why he's one of the best film writers out there.

I better see this film on all your Halloween watchlists this October.

You can personally admonish me if this isn't on my watched films by the end of this month because this sounds like extremely my shit.

I ❤️ @mattbelloni.bsky.social for this. The ethics of Hollywood are basement level. Same for tech (see below a column I wrote in 2019).

JFC. Fascist, racist, corupt Justices giving the ok for ethnic cleansing by arguing 'don't worry, there's a spectrum of constitutional violation" is as frightening as it is enraging.
Understand, this is scary for all brown folks, no matter citizenship, language, or employment. We're all targets.

This is a paragraph Brett Kavanaugh wrote on his little computer and then sent out into the world:

Moreover, as for stops of those individuals who are legally in the country, the questioning in those circumstances is typically brief, and those individuals may promptly go free after making clear to the immigration officers that they are U.S. citizens or otherwise legally in the United States.

50 years ago Born to Run was released by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. It's a no skip masterpiece in my book.

Some of my absolute favorite film writing has been published by BWDR. In this worsening media landscape controlled by cultural troglodytes we can't afford to lose any more platforms that value insightful voices. If you have the means please subscribe to @bwdr.bsky.social it is absolutely worth it.

BWDR recently lost a partnership that covered nearly half our operating budget, so things are suddenly very tough. If what we do has ever meant something to you, or you’ve ever thought about subscribing, now’s the time—it *truly* makes a difference.

9 years ago I worked a signing event with Spike Lee that John Singelton showed up to as a surprise. After that I went to the Hollywood Bowl with my wife and our friend to see Sufjan Stevens. That was a good August day.
