Marketplace keeps taunting me with the loveliest Ford trucks from the late 80s to mid 90s. Boxy bodies, long beds, rusted wheel wells, torn upholstery. I drove several F150s in various shades of blue during high school and college but I’m willing to try a different color.

We had a planning commission meeting and one of the items we discussed was a small interim parking lot at the local grocery co-op. Things got extremely heated. The chair had to clear his throat TWICE. I nearly went for my gavel.

I was an agency copy editor. I started reviewing books for a print startup focused on craft beer. Two large regional brewers offered me communications jobs the same week. A decade later I’m still writing about beer and brewing.

In this tough and moving essay, Caroline Kennedy's 35-year-old daughter Tatiana Schlossberg reveals that she is terminally ill with leukemia. She has some choice words about how her cousin Bobby has made the limited time she has left worse. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...
A Battle with My Blood
When I was diagnosed with leukemia, my first thought was that this couldn’t be happening to me, to my family.

For my Richfield and Richfield-adjacent neighbors, there’s an organic Yemeni coffee joint going in the former Egyptian Parrot storefront on 66th street. You know the spot, right next door to the Enchanted Rock Garden.

Took the kids to get vaccinated and stopped for Dairy Queen on the way home. Like real American families do.

Everything inside the McDonald’s breakfast burrito is exquisite. But the chalky flour tortilla disappoints every time. An easy win is within reach, Ronald.

Plumber came to look at the bathtub, which has been clogged since October. Says $2500 will cover repairs. I can make that in a week posing nude for community college art students, it’s fine. What’s bothering me is this guy had long thick hair. The kinda hair that clogs bathtub drains. Too much hair.
