The high quality of Hellenistic metalwork was applied to many everyday objects, including box mirrors, an example of which is below. This beautiful repoussé relief of a woman with a silver earring and necklace once covered a polished, reflective bronze surface within. 🏺 1/ #ancientbluesky

Fifteen of those twenty years were spent writing unsuccessful grant applications.
You can tell that LotR was written by an academic because Gandalf disappears for like 20 years doing research to answer a single question.

This gold solidus is the earliest coin to depict Jesus. It was minted in Constantinople in 450 to celebrate Emperor Marcian's marriage to Pulcheria. Jesus is shown between the imperial couple. This specimen from the Hunterian collection is the only known example in existence.

I honestly cannot think of a cesspit I’ve excavated, anywhere, any period, that hasn’t been found to be teeming with bad news.

Give it two more years, and being able to exclude false references from your research will be about as important a skill as including real references is today.
Grading and googling hallucinated citations, as one does nowadays, and now that LLMs have been around for a while, I've discovered new horrors: hallucinated journals are now appearing in Google Scholar with dozens of citations bc so many people are citing these fake things
