The Pioneers cycle trip is the most significant fundraising initiative for www.1morechild.org. 70% of all their funding comes from these rides, and so far we have raised nearly £1.75 million for the charity across legs 1 to 11. This year, leg 14 550 miles across the princely state of Rajasthan.

Awesome thread and observation
i find this image so fascinating. it is both a literal example of authoritarianism but also a second-hand reproduction of the aesthetics of other authoritarian states. it's like a simulacra of authoritarianism whose purpose is to attempt to make the simulacra real.
This is a real photograph of Washington, DC this week, where the United States president has ordered military occupation in peacetime, and ordered the display of colossal portraits of himself.

just back from a worrying weekend in London.
Had a great time - it's still a great city to visit - but the backdrop of the media full of footage featuring angry people waving flags and shouting at hotels stayed with me.
Politicians encouraging this need to be held responsible.

When hundreds of NHS staff aren't getting basic pay & conditions and the board refuse to negotiate - intervening in it a board meeting is necessary.

I find the whole thing repulsive, but focusing on one area (which is a result of many, I realise) the US and Isreal said they would ‘manage’ the food distribution because they didn’t trust the UN/independent bodies , and they’ve ended up shooting at crowds. There must be a better way
