I interviewed Menefee in Houston in 2022 about the GOP attacks on trans rights - he was the county attorney for Harris county & had refused Paxton’s “guidance” to classify gender affirming care as “child abuse”. Now, he has won a special election for the TX house, narrowing the GOP majority

A +17 Trump TX Senate district appears to be going to the Democrat.

This is the kind of thing this Texas ex-pat has dreamed of for literal decades.

We are going to win, friends. We just have to fight for it.

Find your organizing home and get to work.
‼️‼️‼️‼️ Per reporters on scene, Leigh Wambsganss has shut down her party. She hasn't conceded to Taylor Rehmet yet, but apparently told supporters that “we’ll be back in November.”
Hard to overstate how big a deal a Rehmet win would be. Tarrant County is the epicenter of Christian nationalism in Texas, an incubator for far-right policies, and nexus of billionaire Tim Dunn's network, which is riding hard for Wambsganss. Rehmet almost entirely funded by donations of $100 or less

My friend lives in Roxbury NJ where ICE is trying to buy a warehouse to convert into a detention center and she says they’re trying to fight it. Apparently many of the people fighting are Trump supporters who voted for deportations but are worried the concentration camp will ruin property values.

I just put all my files for this WIP into one Master File. It's 667 pages long, clocking in at 107,000 words. I'm going to edit this down to 75,000- 80,000 words or thereabouts.

I am going to carve out the hidden novel from this block of text!
Crossed the 10,000 word mark on the yearly total for my Work In Progress last night

Plus I solved a big problem with the ending, so I feel pretty chuffed about that!

I now have 8 different doc files for this WIP: time to start combining them!
New Yearly Total: 10936!!!!
