Totally. No obvious patterns to the play at all, going forward. Which is a massive coaching failure.

Unfortunately, I fear the answer is “both”.

Seen the Sparks one? Or the Val Kilmer one?

Fair enough! How about Sarah Polley’s Stories We Tell? That’s superb.

Have you seen The Act of Killing or The Look of Silence? They are incredible.

I often think about how cheap good quality coffee is. Imagine how much work and time and transport and craft has gone into that £3 cup of filter coffee. There’s not much profit there! What a triumph of modern capitalism in a cup.

Same for Cordoba. Obviously good defender, played out of position and offered no midfield support against Wrexham. Took all the flak when he admittedly played terribly.

And we tackle the tricky issue of expectations. How much can you expect change And how can couples talk about ADHD without it feeling like one partner's "problem" to solve?

Manchester By The Sea. Blimey, that’s a rough but brilliant film.

Matt and I argue that yes, you can achieve a lot with relatively little. A small number of couples therapy sessions, with some key interventions, can transform an unhappy relationship.

But what are those interventions and how do you practice them?

*NEW POD EPISODE*

Can marginal gains lead to big improvements in your relationship?

Calories in, calories out. Harm reduction in substance abuse. All very sensible: but can modest, realistic interventions drive genuine transformation in your relationship?

As someone living in Norwich after years in SE London, this made me laugh especially hard.

Penalties are ludicrous. An almost certain goal for a minor foul, in most cases.

There should be a game clock of 35 minutes that stops for fouls and throw ins.

The offside rule is pretty pointless at the top end of the game. We should trial scrapping it.

CDMs are underrated and Gods among men.

Everybody should absolutely view this as an invitation to drop your spiciest soccer takes.

Loved this episode of Plain English with @dkthomp.bsky.social. Suzanne O’Sullivan is such a sane, compassionate and helpful voice in the field of medicine and mental health.

In the modern world, we are told to look for romantic partners who "complete" us. They should be someone we love, but also someone who encourages us to live our best life, to achieve our individual goals and self-actualise.
