Good idea

I'd like to see micro-generation & storage be taken much further
I figure street lampposts would be a good place to do something eg a 30W solar panel on top of a 1m VAWT above the bulb (below would cause shadow flickering) with a battery, enough to power it all week, in the base.
"The basic idea is to install a household battery to every household connected to the National Grid. This is the vast majority of homes in Scotland. Battery storage allows householders to keep electricity stored and ready to use it when you need it." by Charlie McCarthy

A new article estimates that even a 10% DECLINE in MMR vax coverage in the US could lead to 11 MILLION US measles cases over 25 years.

IF instead MMR coverage INCREASES by 5%, cases would falled to <10K.

Given infectiousness of Measlies, it's VITAL to ⬆️ MMR vax rates.

Measles info below 1/2

How have we not got masks in healthcare? Why are teachers still told to wash their hands for airborne transmission. @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social Labour promised to clean the air. What’s going on? Why the delay, the science is showing the opposite of UKHSA guidance. We need urgent action on this!

That's a bit difficult for Trump's narrative

"After months of heated debate in Washington &, reportedly, much reluctance on the part of U.S. President Donald Trump, the White House was said to have approved the Javelin sale in December."

Note : Not *gave* but *sold*

U.S. Confirms Delivery Of Javelin Antitank Missiles To Ukraine
The United States confirms to RFE/RL its delivery of Javelin antitank missile systems to Ukraine in a move that is welcome in Kyiv but will almost certainly enrage Moscow.

I think this is the closest many of us have ever got to seeing the real Trump. The only consistent thread in his entire unhinged rant was the love & praise for Vladimir Putin. Zelensky has more courage & dignity in his little finger than every member of Trump's regime & fan club combined.

And now I discover you can 3d print colour lithophanes eg www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO3K...
I'm having visions of voice controlled LED lights behind lithohane ceiling/wall tiles...Dividing a picture up into sections, to print up and re-assemble seems possible but probably prohibitively expensive.

There have been lots of tales about musicians, scientists etc waking up with something new, a song, a theory etc, essentially, fully formed. No such grand thing happened with me this morning but I did wake up with a new name that I'd like to use in a project...

It's that time of year that, as a post-theist, I find myself pondering what Xmyth greetings to wish others, so this time it's...

I read some research, some years back, on aerosol formation and spread, lid down didn't make as much difference as I'd have expected, though it did change distribution pattern significantly.

It lead me to think that seat and lid should have a silicon surround underneath.

Hmmm... I've realised that it would occasionally be handy to have a mini speaker in a wireless mouse ( hardware costs would be pennies ) that could triggered to beep from the computer.

No prizes for guessing what initiated that thought this afternoon...I suspect down the back of the (heavy) sofa.

My old friends Nidge & Laurence sadly both now deceased.

I had been thinking about Nidge recently too, possibly as some other friends had been in touch about finishing off a track we'd all worked on with him back then & thrown a quick version together, for Laurence to hear before cancer took her.

( My own) Precaution principle was to treat it as airborne unless/until we had data that proved it wasn't.
Prof Colin McKay was chief of medicine at Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 2020. At #covidinquiry today he said his infection control teams were convinced Covid was airborne virus as early as April 2020. WHO and NHS both firmly saying it wasn't airborne at that stage (they were wrong).

I was trying to think of something profound to write, as my first post here. Gave up and you get this instead.
