I would make a joke about Margaret O'Brien's terrifying-lunge-for-the-neck expression in this, but I also learned that a rival child actor dad tried to drop some heavy equipment on her during this production, so I will suspend judgment (and not like a piece of heavy equipment)

I also enjoyed the power moves of the 1900s as seen from the 1940s, like filling out the (presumed) snotty East Coast girl's dance card with all the worst dancers in town as a "favor", or hiding your love interest's hat in the breadbox during the party so they literally can't go home

I can't bleet about Meet Me In St. Louis without mentioning the Martin Prince '"Clang, clang, clang" went the trolley' song. It's in there! It's a fun song! You would imagine that the trolley ride is to some important destination, but then the song ends and the plot just kinda goes somewhere else?
