This is along the lines of what happened in run up to/right after Valencia floods in October 2024: redirection of funding from disaster prevention and relief (approved by previous Vox-supported regional admins) led to v suboptimal prep for the floods. But this didnt stop Vox for mounting outrage.

After media reports & experts warned for months that drastic & sudden cuts at the Nat Weather Service by Trump could impair their forecasting ability & endanger lives during the storm season, TX officials blame an inaccurate forecast by NWS for the deadly results of the flood.

STUDY found that “the growing number of SUVs reduced the vehicle capacity of freeway lanes in Minnesota’s Twin Cities by 9.5% between 1995-2019. Their findings suggest yet another way in which ‘car bloat’ exacerbates problems that affect everyone, regardless of how they travel.”

Plus more deaths…
How SUVs Are Making Traffic Worse
As larger, taller sport utility vehicles took over US roads, they also aggravated highway congestion, according to a new study. It’s yet another ill effect of “car bloat.”

Ukraine is Europe!
We stand by Ukraine.

We will step up our support to Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back the agressor.

Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It’s up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge.

Just 9% fewer cars led to 20% - 50% faster commutes.

It is an expensive and fruitless mistake to prioritize more driving when less driving overall is better for everyone!

I refuse to shut up about this: NYC started charging $9 to bring a car into our most transit-rich zone, the haters & trolls predicted doom, but traffic evaporated instantly and here’s Times Square tonite (even after the holiday tourists have left). For a better future, build transit & price driving!

Economists are not prepared for the impact of the demographic cliff.

Enrollments are already down in aggregate, they are going to fall more, and it looks like maybe professor demand is already responding
