One of my favorite bible verses, gains new meaning😂
Lost my best eater at the top of this year, and by Q3, I came across someone who topped them (pun intended). I say that to say, Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Because our African and MENA colleagues and friends are not here. It’s that simple for most of the world. This is a white American liberal app. Which is fine, but it’s limited.

What’s still so fascinating to me about my educational career is how much I’ve absorbed over the years. At times I worry about my long term memory but today I was watching this film about a fictional nuclear catastrophe and was able to recall international relations theories I learned in undergrad😅

How do you begin a story in your language? What's your equivalent for "Once upon a time"?

I knew that this multi-billion dollar institution I attend had no interest in diversity, when I attended formal events and they serve luke warm chicken, with minimal seasoning and a salad on the side. You’re lucky if there’s wine.

It’s ok if you’re having a hard time keeping up with every single shitty thing that’s happening bc there’s a lot of it

One way to avoid overwhelm is to choose an issue you’re going to track

Be mindful as you track an issue that you don’t reinforce the idea that US lives matter more than others

My therapists are always shook at how quickly I act after a session😂. We will cover some stuff and I’ll come back the next week, like “before we start, I have to tell you that that thing I was struggling with? Well,I tried what we discussed and here’s how it went….”😌

"The notion that whites are suffering at the hands of Blacks in South Africa has captured international headlines for weeks now. And yet as indicated in the outlines of this story of land and poverty and racial traumas that remain unaddressed...the ghosts of apartheid roam far too freely"
On Trump and the invention of white victims in South Africa
Occasionally a display of racist violence is so brutal and grotesque that it forces South Africans to time travel.

Man, it’s so hard to be a doctoral student in these times. Watching knowledge be so fundamentally disrespected while trying to complete the most tasking academic project of your career so far is truly something. Mind you the very institutions awarding you the degree is complicit!?🫠

I think the fascists who are now carrying out a coup in the US have spent the last 8 years conducting a Criminal Interview of the Democratic party.

They've concluded, correctly, that the Democrats are incapable of making the mental shift required to do what's necessary to defend themselves. 5/

I know that social media is divided into people who can handle being perceived, and monitoring spirits. But my god there’s somebody on my Instagram stories who I am ready to block cz she can’t just enjoy the stories, always weighing in on some slick hater energy ish😬

One of the benefits of being grown is learning to form and stick to your opinion. I’m really enjoying honing my own tastes for food, music, tv and fashion, without needing anybody’s validation. As in if I like it, I like it!🤷🏾‍♀️…It’s like puberty but funner!😂
