For some time I thought it was unlikely to succeed when I saw other companies try to take on Google in search. Now that they're ruining their product with AI, it may be that all a competitor has to do is just do exactly what Google did about a decade ago.

I use Google Assistant for exactly one thing and Gemini can't do it. What a downgrade.

When you hear CEOs and Republicans in their speeches saying things like, "We need less regulation" you should just translate that in your head to, "We need more PR disasters and catastrophic bankruptcies!" It sounds a lot different when you hear people cheering for the second one.

Grow a spine Schumer. Shut it the fuck down. The power that Trump would have in a government shutdown is already the power he illegally wielding. Make it explicit. Make everybody feel it. At the very least to stop being so obviously complicit in Trump's actions.

I would love it if you listened and/or added it to a playlist!

It’s inspired by the game Silent Hill 2

I did some vibe coding tonight and it feels bad but it was so easy to generate one of these straightforward UIs this way.

Blow up a rocket once, shame on you. Buy the US government to fire the guy responsible for making sure you know why the rocket blew up, and then firing another rocket, that then blows up... still shame on you.

Shutterstock is such a ripoff. Cancellation fees? So I owe you money for not having what I'm looking for? Garbage.

Women's sports exist to protect male egos, not for any particular benefit to women. When Gavin Newsom says he wants to protect women's sports, it's just repeating "We need to protect men's egos." Fellow men, if your ego requires this much protecting, then you don't deserve it.

Another era of work has come to an end. I want to thank Hi-Rez Studios and RallyHere for the decade or so of really getting to be on the front-lines of building backends for games. The team is experienced and amazing to work with. I'm going to cherish that experience and those memories.

I absolutely abhor the new "Family Share" setup on Steam. This used to be very easy. You just logged in on the machine and authorized it. Now there's a poorly designed chain of email and authorizations designed to make it easier for hackers and harder for actual people.

The obsequious behavior of TikTok over the last 12 hours or so has been a pretty transparent attempt to ingratiate themselves to the new dictator of the US coming in next week.

It's pretty much the height of American hypocrisy to ban TikTok while making no moves whatsoever for a GDPR or any general laws to actually protect Americans from the ills of social media influence.
