SJ 2 to an automatic restoration of rights for felons. Dr Shelia Furey wants the amendment to go further and restore gun rights to felons. There's a federal issue in the way for that.

HJ 4 to allow Congressional redistricting passes 15-7. Chair Cia Price mentions that a redistricting amendment was approved by voters a few years ago but also there was an East Wing of the White House a few years ago.

Didn't catch the name of the woman but she was worried that HJ 2 would allow the automatic restoration of rights for convicted felons and let felons hold public office. I can't help thinking what it would be like if a felon held a high public office.

Delegate Jay Leftwich says that the state has an interest in the fetus, goes beyond Roe v Wade and will be voting against the bill. Herring responds and says that the Supreme Court abandoned Roe.

Now taking public comments against and the first in line is Dr Michael Huffman of the Virginia Assembly of Independent Baptists. One of his reasons he opposed is lack of parental notifications. I gotta do a deep dive on Dr Huffman someday.

Senator Creigh Deeds joins the meeting to represent Thomas Burns of Bath County for campaign finance violations. Deeds says Burns stopped using County Board email after losing reelection and didn't receive email to file his report of a $0 campaign. Appeal granted.
