Today's SPC Fire Weather Forecast map looks like a turkey wearing sunglasses.
Storm Prediction Center's Day 1 Fire Weather Outlook map featuring a broad, turkey-shaped swath of orange (denoting "Elevated risk") over extreme SW South Dakota, W Nebraska, SE Wyoming, E Colorado, E New Mexico, much of Texas, and much of Oklahoma. In the northern part of the swath - in extreme W Nebraska, SE Wyoming, and N Colorado, there is a smaller red swath (denoting critical fire weather risk) that looks like the eyes and wattle of a turkey if the turkey were wearing goggles or sunglasses. In extreme SE Wyoming and N Colorado is a pink swath (denoting extreme fire weather risk) in the shape of a turkey snood. The map is valid from 12Z on 12/19 to 12Z on 12/20.

Students decided to launch a "special" sounding as the snow began to ramp up this afternoon and, of, course, it was all shared with our regional NWS offices. I'm so very proud of their dedication to data collection, analysis, & dissemination! Here is their skew-t from today's launch (2030 UTC):

The red line (middle, to the right of the leftmost line) is the temperature of the atmosphere, the green/leftmost line is the dewpoint, and the yellow-brown line is the relative humidity. The profile diagram shows the location of the tropopause was at about 300 mb.

Thanks; I understood the directions, but what I'm saying is that I cannot put "google.com" in for the shortcut...It does not let me do that.

That said, I *did* try it with "www.google.com" and it does seem like it worked. So, here's hoping, and thanks for posting the video!

I dunno...Friday for us has "May produce heavy rainfall" and they mentioned that specifically on the radio, too. Maybe this is a new thing - directive from on-high or somethin'?
Forecast for next 7 days for St Cloud, MN. Most say highs in high 70s/low 80s, lows in 60s . However, beginning on Thursday, there is a chance of thunderstorms . By Friday, the forecast includes "some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall."

Reminds me of one of my favorite comics (done by someone with the name Jubidoobydoo) of all time; it will never not be hilarious to me:
