Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

As you have probably gathered corvids are my favourite. As well as the Ravens and numerous Crows, I also feed a flock of Jackdaws every day and here is one posing for a photo this morning. Isn't it beautiful! #ukbirding

No joke getting TO it is actually quite doable now with the paths along Cooley and HWY 20.

It's just… so many cars. 😵‍💫

For context here's a screepcap from Maps. "Car Island" isn't just made of cars it's surrounded by them: it's that triangle shape made by HWYs 97, 20, and Cooley Road.

I don't want to talk about what impelled me to go there. It involved Best Buy.

The price we pay to accommodate cars is huge. Literally.

"Judge Retention" sounds like an uncomfortable GI issue, but it's actually a really great opportunity to fight for democracy from the comfort of your own home.
