Honestly that second week in February is gonna be a crazy time at the movies. Don't know if any of these will be great (and a few will probably be bad) but it's genuinely exciting to see such a spread of options for genre and tone and target demo going wide in one weekend

Really should reread A+A: The Adventures of Archer and Armstrong. The Fred Van Lente book is probably better overall but David Lafuente made Armstrong SO hot

Onto Divinity III. This chapter is set on an alternate world where the USSR won the Cold War, and I totally forgot that they choose to demonstrate that on the first page via a para-military agent of the state murdering a bunch of political protestors. Good thing that would NEVER happen in 'MURICA!

I know the Xenoblare Chronicles remaster has haters but I do really like how it looks. The colorful but washed-out anime aesthetics applied to very crunchy textures and spread over very bulky, squared-off terrain is so appealing. Nothing else looks quite like it.

It's got nothing on the original Quesada design though, obviously. But given that reboot Ninjak had functionally nothing to do with the original title beyond being a white guy ninja (and, well, the title), I think a radical change made sense.

The (first) reboot of 90s character Ninjak had a design so stupid that Christopher Priest devoted an entire page of Quantum and Woody to making fun of it but, I dunno, I think it's fun in a Saturday Morning Cartoon kind of way

I really liked how almost fetishistic a lot of the early branding was, really leaning into Venom as an interloper in this relationship. It felt interesting enough to justify doing the thing I hate (giving supports powere/swapping around Venom) but the book just couldn't hold up to scrutiny.

The art from Hairsine and co. is strong (although I've never found Hairsine very good at the more action figure-y elements seen in the back half) but by and large I liked this a lot less than when I last read it. I recall liking the sequels more, I'll get to them soon.

I like how Killraven basically ages in reverse throughout his solo run. Starting as a chiseled barbarian archetype, broad as a barn, eventually becoming smaller, shorter, less defined, before ending the series looking quite youthful, complete with shitty facial hair.
