It's after the end of the world. Don't you know that yet?
During Peak Woke it was briefly acceptable for men online to make content targeting women. Now if you do that you get called a Gender Traitor.

Alternatively maybe Shulk just has really specific and bad aphantasia and can't imagine people in different clothes

"Fuck ICE" as a sentiment is being RAPIDLY normalized. It's approaching 2020 anti-police levels. Which, GOOD! But it's surprising regardless.

I rewatched it over the weekend and while I wouldn't call it a revolutionary text or anything, I appreciate just how matter-of-fact it portrays the fascism inherent to modern America. It's not a secret, there's no "reveal", they're just PRESENT and must be dealt with.

Really funny that they announced this like 3 hours after Twitter kicked off a new round of "are comics worse than manga" discourse specifically centered around the lack of endings in capeshit lol

It really is funny when you eventually get the hindsight to see the limits of pop culture seen as progressive for its time. Wonder what elements of something like NuTrek we see as normal or lightly "woke" now we'll end up seeing as deeply problematic in 50 years?

Genuinely kinda impressive how little homerotic subtext there is in Archer and Armstrong. A big hairy older man taking a naive, fresh-faced blonde boy under his wing and showing him the world and yet somehow it never feels like they're gonna bang.

But at least there, the Minions movie is for little babies and not something ostensibly presenting itself as a prestige genre work for adults.

As an aside, in the alternate history presented, the USSR conquered Europe BEFORE the Nazis rose to power, so they don't even get to be the guys who beat the Nazis. Real "the Minions were in hiding from 1850-1950" vibes, just cheating so you don't have to reckon with history.

Xenoblade 2 infamously leans really hard into 2010s-style cheescake but 3 and the spinoff X both pull much closer to the original. Honestly X might be one of the most "realistic" games Nintendo has put out, in terms of aesthetic--it feels VERY Xbox 360, if that makes sense.

I'm not a "video games cause violence" guy but I do think it's fairly damning for the medium that if you're not a game about killing people you'll either be treated as a novelty, or get placed into a seperate, siloed-off category, as with sports games, map games and simulators
