It's after the end of the world. Don't you know that yet?
Schumer showing weakness on funding unfortunately decreases the likelihood of something really funny happening: the government shutting down immediately after we invade Iran

I like that the future visions in Xenoblade show your party in whatever clothes they're currently wearing, no matter how far out, implying these people need to exert incredible amounts of willpower, enough to alter fate, just to change their clothes

I know it's passé to compare the politics of here and Twitter but at least on the other app people don't say Eddington is a "both sides" movie

There's just so much going on in the world anymore that I'm more shocked when something breaks through than when it doesn't, these days. This week, I'm surprised at how much the DHS Herzog penguin tweet is getting spread around, and also just anti-ICE sentiment in general.

Really should reread A+A: The Adventures of Archer and Armstrong. The Fred Van Lente book is probably better overall but David Lafuente made Armstrong SO hot

Is it cringe? Sure. But it's the kind of cringe we need right now.
Tim Doyle a famous Marvel artist is making some of the most Metal Anti-ICE art right now! Ghost Rider, Wolverine and the Punisher taking ICE out!

Local is showing Fruitvale Station next month followed by a "conversation with community leaders". I WILL be seated.

I understand what this is going for but it's so fucking funny to do this with a character who, in the main Shadowman book, was born on a plantation to a slave owner lmao

Something to be said about anti-communism uniting all factions of freaks in the US, even if it certainly wasn't intentional here

Onto Divinity III. This chapter is set on an alternate world where the USSR won the Cold War, and I totally forgot that they choose to demonstrate that on the first page via a para-military agent of the state murdering a bunch of political protestors. Good thing that would NEVER happen in 'MURICA!

That's just accuracy slop. You only like it because it reminds you of the source material.

Idle thought but probably the most important part of Disco Elysium in the zeitgeist is that it is functionally the only game commonly found in "games as art" discussions that isn't about Doing Murder

I know the Xenoblare Chronicles remaster has haters but I do really like how it looks. The colorful but washed-out anime aesthetics applied to very crunchy textures and spread over very bulky, squared-off terrain is so appealing. Nothing else looks quite like it.

Guy who hasn't gone to any kind of protest or rally since June of 2020 and does not own a gun: "Umm protests are stupid, why aren't you all just joining armed militias???"

“We’re starting ourselves up a New ICE (NICE) founded on looooooove”
January 24, 2026 at 9:15 PM
Seen a fair few examples of "this version of ICE" today. Pritzker called it "Trump's ICE". It's obviously an attempt at de-escalation, to try and calm those who are calling for abolition, but I don't think it will work and I DO think it represents an Overton Window shift in our favor, however small.
1. ICE must leave Minneapolis.

2. Congress should not fund this version of ICE - that is seeking confirmation, chaos and dystopia.

The online left (what other left is there?) needs to find a balance between "this is CIVIL WAR if you don't stockpile guns you're gonna be KILLED!" and "feh, nothing matters this changes nothing, Nothing Ever Happens". Dooming is fine but neither of these are accurate or helpful!

I enjoy a "no good outcome" choice. But despite what people say online it very much feels like there is a "good ending" and a "bad ending", and the "good ending" is one I'd find morally reprehensible if I'm supposed to think of the Expeditioners as people, and annoying if not
I don't think I like the ending very much either way, but where I come down on this will decide if I think the messy and overwrought final ending choice is the only thing I dislike (if they are just constructs) or if it hurts my whole opinion of the game (if they're people)

So, in Clair Obscur (spoilers!), am I meant to understand the people in the Canvas as people, or as grief-pawns? Because I did really appreciate that Act 3 didn't stop treating the Canvas cast as people...right up until the ending, where it seems to go the grief-pawn route.
