I cannot GET over this, I used to think that Thrust was just going for help & it was just awkwardly animated, but no the script says he chickens out. The saddest thing about this is they did not animate Astrotrain's reaction.

Rewatching certain scenes in G1 made me realize one thing.

Astrotrain has storage in his chassis. What else can he put in there?

people are sleeping on sandstorm! he teases octane, then boldly says "i'm gonna to keep you around?" & it's not just words because he tries to save him when he sees him chained & dragged away?!

Always willing to take the most death-defying risks, Sandstorm likes to get close enough to the enemy during his patrols so he count the number of bolts in a Decepticon's armor plate. Only by being so daring, by getting his fuel pumping so strongly that feels his internal circulatory hoses about to burst, does Sandstorm truly feel functional. He likes to live on the edge. Anything less than dangerous he finds boring, and when he's bored he's more likely to be in danger since his concentration lapses. Sandstorm only fears one thing: an end to the war. With no enemy to spy upon, he worries he will have no further purpose.

So the aftermath is them covered in energon dripping from being filled up to keep it going & Octane sitting there like this with that stupid expression like in this picture twiddling his hands together while awkwardly closing his panel to check if they're not bluescreening or something. #valveplug

I have not been able to see Octane the same way ever since I found out Octane refines fuel into energon in his body & he has hoses that siphon & drill (d-drill...) for fuel in his profile & seeing the hoses ...

Imagining some poor fool topping him, then those hoses come out. #valveplug
