My US experience. I've passed through many of the "not visited" ones either in airports or on highways but that doesn't count. Then there's Louisiana where I spent about 1/3 of my 2016 and lots of time in 2014-2017 on a remote assignment so I have some experience: Good food/weather, Awful politics.

And by reluctant I mean if I were forced to leave Canada and most other countries were not an option. I grew up in New England so I could probably manage if need be but I would be far from pleased.

Chilly -12 degree commute today. Dressed properly and rode on winter tires so it was lovely. It’s weird how much slower riding in subzero temps is. Pedalling feels so much harder.

Today’s ride video is a commute - I actually talk a bit about the route and winter cycling. It was such a gorgeous day though the winter tires are loud! It sounds like I’m frying bacon on the route! #cycling

So after mostly getting 100-300 views per post on TikTok I posted about fetching groceries without a car. There was hardly any contention about carfree life. But OH BOY! The comments on the post were *filled* with people arguing about what these things are called. What do you call these?

Not a ride video - a forced rest day. Need a cassette tool to get the trainer ready to ride indoors and summer tires on the commuter still. It's beautiful to look at though.

What a great ride in to work - I have a number of routes to choose from but this one is 85% off-road so even though I was riding at 8:00 AM in Canada's largest city, one car passed me. (Though my radar said 2 because somehow riding near high tension power lines creates "phantom" cars on the radar)

As I promised myself, I got on the bike after work after missing the morning ride. SO much more traffic than 5:30 AM but also much warmer too. Glad I got out.

This morning I definitely didn't want to go to work let alone bike. I still have a bit of a cold and had a headache most of the night. I'm glad I went, though. The ride was really pretty and despite the cold I stayed nice and warm. And surprisingly my headache improved. #cycling #biketo

Didn’t want to go out in the rain at 5:20 am but still did it. Headwind, rain and made two trips back for forgotten wallet and glasses. Rather than a fast lap of Thornhill as I usually do I meandered around the city. Turns out that was a great way to enjoy the morning.
