Remind me again of the values the GOP claims to stand for
atrupar.com
Trump: "We took the freedom of speech away because that's been through the courts and the courts said you have freedom of speech, but what has happened is when they burn a flag it agitates and irritates crowds."
gpgomez.bsky.social
Yes, I was pretty happy about that. Lol, I think most people outside of Kansas City are tired of the Chiefs. They had their run, and the Bills are overdue.

I know it's too early to choose a Democratic nominee for 2028, but I'm rather hoping that Pritzker throws his hat in the ring.
atrupar.com
Pritzker: "He wants to militarize major cities because he wants us to get used to the idea of troops on the streets. I believe he's gonna post people outside of polling places and if he needs to in order to control those elections, he'll assume control of the ballot boxes & count the votes himself"

Billy just wants to be appropriately dressed for the holiday. You can't blame him for that.

She's trying to tell you that she's spooky enough all on her own and you don't need any stinkin' Halloween decorations

Also, you don't need any curtains. Don't worry, she'll help take them down.

Do not do the thing where you retweet a post as a quote tweet but without actually adding a comment (i.e., just adding a space or two so it looks like a retweet). It's a cheap way of getting likes for yourself for someone else's post.

I block when people do the fake quote tweet thing.

CNN: “An older couple making $85K/year will see their yearly insurance premiums jump from $7K to $25,000 — 30% of their income.” 😳#TrumpShutdown #TrumpHealthCareTax

This is what Dems are drawing attention to and want fixed. Now, not later.

Explain to me again what values the GOP is supposed to believe in

Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

Core 1A speech.

With cameras rolling, they’re sniping priests for sport.

Literally no one wants to sleep with Stephen Miller.

If given a choice between death and sleeping with Stephen Miller, I would literally take death (because I wouldn't be able to live with myself afterwards unless you gave me a lobotomy), and I'm betting AOC would as well.

Ah, my Merrill Lynch CMA card doesn't have any of those charges if I use one of their foreign partners, and I can use any ATM in the US without an ATM fee, but there's an ATM fee in other countries if I use a bank outside their partner network.

Like I said, it pays to double-check with your bank.
gpgomez.bsky.social
Absolutely. And check your credit cards to see whether they charge foreign transaction fees on purchases and if so, what the fee is. One of my credit cards does not charge any foreign transaction fees so I use it for everything when I travel in other countries.
gpgomez.bsky.social
You should double check with your bank about your particular card and account to make sure.
gpgomez.bsky.social
For example, Bank of America has these partners locators.bankofamerica.com/internationa.... If your bank is not a partner, you'd pay a $5 fee when you withdraw money.

For me, it is just like withdrawing money in the US.
gpgomez.bsky.social
If your bank has a partner bank in the country you're going to, you are generally golden-- I don't pay any fees at all most places and I get the best exchange rate. But you have to know what the partner banks are and go to their machines.

If there's no partner bank, there will be fees (they vary)
gpgomez.bsky.social
I also hate carrying around large amounts of cash-- it makes me feel vulnerable.
gpgomez.bsky.social
You have to pay a fee to get euros in the US. I can withdraw them for free in Europe using my bank card, so I don't think I would end up saving money. Even if traveler's checks still exist, I don't want the hassle. In any case, I will likely charge nearly everything.

I'M COUNTING ON THE ELECTRIC FENCE TO KEEP OUT THE BROWN SHIRTS
gpgomez.bsky.social
I have an upcoming European vacation in November and December, and at least one more coming up in August. I am debating paying for all my hotels in advance because who the heck knows what's going to happen to the dollar in the meantime.

It seems bad that the U.S. dollar has lost over 10% of its value since Trump took office. Maybe the president should do something about that?

It's definitely not a both sides thing given that there is far more violence coming from the right wing.

And that's not even counting the ICE violence
