We'd much rather you be through security quickly for everyone's sake. For yours, having a good experience, and for ours, not having you potentially slow the folks behind you.

Denver Airport is one of many that recognizes the Sunflower hidden disabilities symbol. If you need it, get a lanyard.
HDS - Global
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a discreet sign that the wearer has a hidden disability and may need additional support

Does banned books week feel stale to anyone else? Can't tell if it's just that I live somewhere where censorship is an active, living threat, which a book display with 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 doesn't really speak to.

there's a conspiracy theory going around that actually Travis Kelce wrote the songs on the new Swift album that everyone seems to hate and torn between stop making excuses everyone does bad work at some point and these are the sort of conspiracies we need as a society

Reminder from your resident high school lubrarian: if you plan to do a Banned Books Week display and programming, prioritize living marginalized authors. Use this time to help those who need it the most.

I do want to apologize in advance to anyone who wrote a prologue & has a date with me at this writer's conference this month for query/ms critiques. My note is just going to be "I do not care for prologues."

There will be other notes & compliments, but the prologue thing is just a prejudice I have

If you can afford a retirement account, do it. To hell with the grind. Get a boring or weird little hobby. Make time for your friends. Stop caring about cringe. Watch bad movies. Read silly books. Fuck vocational awe. Treat yourself. Tylenol and advil are your new besties. Wear good shoes.

When I turned 30 I had not yet written my first published book or my first published novel and did not know (or know of) some of the most important people in my life. I didn't know how much my life could still change, and did, after the age of 30. There is so much your life still yet to live.

it was funny, not gross, don't worry ... it technically at no point touched ham
grahamophones.bsky.social
My partner just said “your phone goes in the ham” and then he put it there
grahamophones.bsky.social
I licked my partner’s nose to be funny and he just kept talking like it didn’t happen, the internet needed to know

ok this really is awful, and she's going to do catastrophically bad things (srsly tell people now to stop trusting CBS as a news source), but i did laugh very hard at someone comping her to Michael Scott

NEW from me:

Several CBS News staffers and insiders told me that the network "is not a good place now" amid the imminent arrival of Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief, who one source likened to Michael Scott of The Office based on her lack of qualifications.

www.the-independent.com/news/world/a...
CBS News staffers are ‘literally freaking out’ about Bari Weiss taking over newsroom
EXCLUSIVE: ‘People are using words like depressing and doomsday – feels like some sort of doomsday,’ one source told The Independent about the mood inside CBS News right now.

Grisella's Treehouse 🌿
Watercolor + Gouache
For my book-in-progress, all about the Woolbeasts.

I keep pulling the 9 of coins lately. I'm certainly not feeling it at the moment, but that's a perspective thing. Deep breaths and deep gratitudes. Take a moment to look out at the garden.
Watercolor painting in bright greens and oranges and purples: A purple tree curves around the picture with huge orange fruits growing from it. Dotted around the branches are small blue creatures. The fruit in the foreground appears to actually be a treehouse with balconies and windows. A lady stands at the main balcony with a cup of tea. I would like to live there.

i am very tired today, and i am also very anxious, and one of the most prominent dreams last night was i was late to clown class & they punished me by making me wash the floor on hands and knees with rags while everybody else got to clown, also my phone was broken
