The human cost is considerably less than the cost to the salmon I would suggest. The environmental cost is always a given where animal agriculture is concerned.

Obviously a terribly sad and distressing story and, rightfully, there will be an outpouring of grief and sadness from many animal lovers. Those same people will sit down to a meal containing the remains of an animal killed in circumstances arguably even more horrific.

1/3 is not the 'norm'. We need to acknowledge that the 'tipping point' has long been passed and people need to start taking individual responsibility for their actions or further climate breakdown will only accelerate. It is never too late to go Vegan folks.

Following Kent County Councils decision to rescind it's climate declaration, we in our household are going to boycott all counties run by reform. We will not visit or spend money in any of them. Shame, as we had planned another visit to the peak district later this year.
