My big issue with their approach since the offseason is it reveals total lack of urgency. It seems obvious Skubal's on his way out, but they don't appear to feel any pressure to go for it while they have him. Ilitch isn't beating the Just Be Good Enough To Make Fans Show Up allegations, in short

Seriously, where are the Smith defenders now, because wheels off games like that are entirely down to coaching. This isn't 2009, you can't take 5 years to get off the ground, and there is no sign whatsoever that something great is almost done incubating
