Why is this advice always aimed at children avoiding their parents, and never at older people belligerently and inevitably regurgitating Facebook opinions so offensive their own kids would rather skip Christmas dinner than endure them?
Yeah, no thanks.

Stop guilting people about being estranged from family members. It someone is they likely have personal reasons for being so.

I say that as someone who has started newsrooms from scratch sometimes with two people - if you’re doing your job correctly you will need a lawyer because the first thing rich people do when you write something they don’t like is threaten you legally. It’s cheap for them and expensive for you

This is why girls are socialized early on to go in pairs. It's not because we need make-up tips.

It's because, cis or trans, if we have someone else with us who also just wants to pee, we are safer from predators looking for an isolated victim to rape.

Shocked! This almost makes me wonder if treating intellectuals like messianic celebrity paragons of virtue because at their best they had some good ideas is, like, maybe, bad? (This. Applies. To. Everybody. Consider your shelves.)

So, Trump sues the BBC for $5Bn and puts the technology deal with the UK on hold until the US gets more concessions.
Anyone still deluding themselves about that “special relationship”? No. Just the tedious parade of simpering MAGA dickheads - led, of course, by the traitorous Farage.

Ego-fluffing despotic narcissists does not work. You just become a whipping boy, a target for their next outburst.
You cannot contain this. Or appease it. It’s just deferring your losses. It’s never actually winning.
What a cowed and isolated country we are now, if we have to beg not to be punished.
Okay, when are we going to answer back? Push back? Fight back? Anything? Because our way of life and society-building institutions are under attack from outside. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Has Donald Trump effectively declared war on Europe?

In this video, I explore how Trump’s racist rhetoric and his attacks on migrants are being used to divide Europe.

This is the defining political choice of our time.

Which Europe do you want to live in?

Intentionally killing innocent people is always wrong.

Wherever in the world it happens.

You might think everyone agrees with this simple moral principle, and yet far too many people, on far too many different sections of the political spectrum, try and make exceptions to it.

There has never been, and there will never be, a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

The reason for this is that—under Netanyahu—Israel is a genocidal rogue state whose signature on any document is meaningless.

American media did Trump a solid by pretending that a wholly illusory ceasefire exists.
