Came here as a reader of posts (skeets?), not as a poster. I promise I’m real.
That’s fair. My frustration is with the way quality improvements aren’t considered in the context of the intellectual property theft and environmental impact issues - and I know it’s hard to capture everything in a skeet. Thanks for engaging/acknowledging.

And that’s the problem with AI that your analysis is frustratingly silent on - just because it’s getting better at generation doesn’t mean the fact that it’s built of of troves of stolen suddenly disappears or gets less morally damming to ignore.

Yeah, if it weren't for an emergency arbitrator ruling Thursday that Sarah Wynn-Williams is prohibited from promoting “Careless People,” her memoir released by Flatiron Books, an imprint of publisher Macmillan Books, I'd never have heard of it or know that it's ISBN is 1035065924 (978-1035065929)

This field is adversarial, but it doesn’t have to be pugilistic. These expectations are so deeply entrenched that even pitched enemies will abide by them. Like, if you DON’T, it will piss the judge off — that’s what a big deal this is.

To abuse that courtesy is fucking WILD.
