Again, this is literally the scenario the right wing militia types describe to justify why they need compounds and military-grade arsenals to defend themselves from tyranny, and then the day push finally comes to shove *for real*, they run right to the side of the tyrannical government to join in.
One thing I apparently didn't learn in law school is that "checks and balances" means the Executive can issue a secret memorandum authorizing it to sign its own warrants to search people's homes and seize people and items within them.
