And to be clear, these things are not necessarily connected other than that my brain encountered them closely enough together that it drew connections between them.

That means we do not have the privilege of being trapped in the paralysis of guilt over how bad we were or the privilege of believing we could never return to the same poisonous and terrible damage or that it could never spread it like it did this time.

But, I am interested in building better communities in the places I am in for the time I am in them and with the people I know for the time I know them and spending time trying to parse out who deserves to leave and who doesn’t does nothing but waste my energy and I don’t have enough to waste
