Queer Trekkie Old Dude on a strange and difficult path.
Erklärbär.
I practice Buddhism because I'm terrible at it.
Autistic as a motherf***er.
I love humans, all of them, but humanity is a constant disappointment.
Ah, more willful ignorance. I gave you a resource from a group associated with the WHO; read that, or (much more likely) don't. No longer interested in engaging with bad faith people.

Not "can't;" shouldn't.

And you're thrilled to use biased and hateful language when it suits your purpose, in addition to your willful ignorance. I know which one I'd prefer to be.

Quieter then, since you can't be better.

This explains the new "Please Do Not Shoot Clothing Into the Time Vortex" sign at work.

Not interested in how you need to self-justify fat-shaming people. Be better or be quieter.
December 3, 2025 at 6:41 PM
This is agreat illustration of the difference between people with ethics, and people who think of 'politics' as a sport.

Some people have a code that says "Never deadname" or "Never fat-shame" or "Never be racist."

Others are "ok with it" if it's someone they hate. These people should fuck off.

I love him. Also, I second your "what?"
December 3, 2025 at 6:15 PM
That's a Mary Poppins result, is what that is (Practically Perfect in Every Way).
December 3, 2025 at 2:29 PM
THIS. As someone who has become (at least moderately) skilled at things both ways: so much this.
December 3, 2025 at 2:05 PM
It's no consolation, but your cousins across the pond are equally appalled (not that we don't have our own assorted Weimar-adjacent nightmares, but the relentless, targeted nature of the Very Normal Island's recent behavior is definitely upsetting).
December 3, 2025 at 1:53 PM
Weird but true.
December 3, 2025 at 1:26 PM
I mean, "hated" is strong, but definitely ill-disposed towards ghoulish live-action nonsense adapted from the works of an artist who famously and adamantly refused any such adaptations while alive. But once he and his wife Audrey died, OPEN SEASON.

Okay, maybe "hated" isn't too strong.

Speaking from a purely "comparative religion" perspective (with a soupçon of ethics), there is no context that can excuse Israel's behavior, almost at any point in its history. Like we in the US, they reside on stolen land and justify it with a myth.

From the author of Two Birds with One Phone.

SERIOUSLY. People think it's dramatic but usually it's just a pain in the ass.

Glad you're here.
December 3, 2025 at 12:22 AM
Yeah, I get that. It's the "mass" part of mass consumption that really nails us in our communities.
December 3, 2025 at 12:22 AM
Years as a front office manager have finally come in handy! I can...disappoint my friends.

yay.

(I tried to replace one once, and I am not unhandy, but it was a bad scene all around)

They only do things for one purpose: fundraising.
December 3, 2025 at 12:07 AM
Lubricant from the gas lift is leaking out. It can be fixed in theory but in practice it is often easier to replace it.
December 3, 2025 at 12:03 AM
To be clear, I know that's not what you meant. I'm just trying to juxtapose my internal ethical experience with 'disposable' income versus other people's. I apologize if I was unclear on that.
December 2, 2025 at 11:59 PM
I bought a used book for $20 recently and felt like a shit-heel (it was essentially all of my disposable income last month) so I really do not get it.

[That said, I'm third or fourth generation "poor but donates to charity and people anyway" so who knows.]
