According to Open Council Data UK, 4 councils have requested postponement: East Sussex, West Sussex, Chorley, and Blackburn with Darwen, while 14 have confirmed their intention to have their elections going ahead as planned.

Councils have until 15 January to decide on the issue.
Yesterday the UK Government called 63 English councils undergoing local governnent reorganisation with elections next year to submit a request to postpone the election to 2027 by 15 January

The map to the right shows the councils up in 2026 if all councils offered the request took it
