In this new preprint, in review @elife.bsky.social, we show what processing steps make up the reaction time using single trial #EEG modelling in a contrast #decision task.

In this 🧵 I'm telling the story behind it as I think it is quite interesting and I can't write it like this in the paper...

My PhD supervisor used to say that writing is the only things that gets better while you age.

Will this still be true with such kind of nonsense 🤔
fleurzeldenrust.bsky.social
No I don't!

I actually want to save time from doing useless admin stuff, so I can spend MORE time reading, understanding and writing research papers!

Simulations are fun! Especially with the right tools😉.
@willenjoy.bsky.social and I (with support from Mina Jamshidi) made a toolbox for simulating EEG/MEG data

I put together a quick simulation using it for this short clip. Took me 10 minutes (no, really!)

Was a bit anxious sharing our Stage 1 RR at @pci-regreports.bsky.social (url: osf.io/vwmzh) since we only had preliminary results, but thankfully no one left during my talk.

Really enjoyed chatting w/ other speakers & was excited to meet @juliankosciessa.bsky.social, whose data we used.

Excited to be in Porto for #ICON2025! I will be at poster session 2 tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon (P2.20) talking about evidence accumulation and choice-encoding centroparietal signals in the human EEG. Come say hi!

The reviewed preprint is now out at eLife elifesciences.org/reviewed-pre... 🥳

The reviews are fair in my opinion. We're already working on the revision in which we identify a motor component and another sensory ERP! Stay tuned, we hope to get that "important" to a "fundamental"

I've spent the past weeks publishing my flankr package on CRAN for R. Users who've only installed the first version will notice SIGNIFICANT improvements in model fit speed.

Plus, I made a hex sticker for it.

Check out our new multisensory decision study!
We tackle a decades-old Q: does faster detection of bimodal targets come from a race or co-activation between modalities? And also a vital, orthogonal Q: is it one decision process or two?
A1: co-activation
A2: two!

Hello. I wrote a nice long essay about AI and this very strange moment where we're constantly told we're living in the dawn of a strange new future but the only thing that's actually clear is that everyone feels pretty unmoored and uncertain. I hope you'll read it
AI Is a Mass-Delusion Event
Three years in, one of AI’s enduring impacts is to make people feel like they’re losing it.
