I try my best to model “ask for help when you need it” but something I realized not just now, but it just got really clear is the importance of even recognizing *when* you need help.

The kid asked me to come check her English work (this was her 3rd attempt at the quiz) She had a bunch wrong (careless mistakes) so I went through the whole thing with her and asked her questions about her answers. She saw her own mistakes and fixed them and got a 100.

talk to yourself out loud — using i, you, and we.

do what you say you’re going to do, especially small things.

encourage yourself out loud AS you’re doing things, especially hard things.

smile at yourself when you pass mirrors in your home.

learn any new things. acquiring knowledge helps a LOT.
