Reminder—If the U.S. had had a single-payer universal health care system in 2020, nearly 212,000 American lives would have been saved that year. In addition, the country would have saved $105 billion in COVID-19 hospitalization expenses alone.

The uptick in avascular necrosis (AVN) cases of the hip after COVID-19 is a serious development that's got the medical community buzzing.

AVN is essentially when the blood flow to the femoral head—the top part of your thigh bone that fits into your hip socket—gets disrupted.
