I don't forget Congress should be doing their job. I've got a billion complaints about Congress—how the GOP has completely capitulated to enabling Trump, how the fossilized leadership of the Dems has constrained their ability to be a nimble, proactive opposition. It's not either/or.

Lower courts should start ignoring them & more lower court judges should call them out. The corrupt Supreme Court is cynically forcing on lower court judges the choice of being true to their oaths & commitment to the rule of law or acceding to the Supreme Court's bad faith gamesmanship. /2

That was no "mistake." None of these decisions are "mistakes." They are deliberate attacks on the rule of law & democracy on behalf of a tyrant.

Tom's a Republican, albeit an exiled pro-democracy one. He's incapable of grokking the appeal of a Zohran Mamdani. I'm a 69 yr old Dem & I've HAD IT w/ the gerontocracy of the party. Most of my similarly aged friends feel the same & my younger ones even more so. PLEASE give me "young & energizing!"

There's no such thing as "the middle." The problem w/ that idea is that by choosing GOP Lite candidates to supposedly appeal to "the middle" you end up running the big risk of tamping down enthusiasm from hardcore base Democratic voters. & elections are won when excitement radiates from the base.

This is a post I think is very important to consider as we approach how to view this moment of crisis. Many of my friends are very active & engaged but most people aren't & THEIR lives do not feel touched by crisis.

As the lives of most Germans from 1933-39 did NOT feel touched by crisis.
