RFK Junior accidentally hired someone competent and reasonably sane, so of course he is resigning rather than take part of the shitshow.

Congress is attempting to fast track KOSA and more than a dozen bills that would restrict internet access, censor speech and increase surveillance under the guise of protecting children.

Committee hearings begin tomorrow.
Lawmakers to consider 19 bills for childproofing the internet
KOSA is back, along with more than a dozen other bills that will erode free speech and privacy in the name of protecting kids.

Love how Democrats are judged by the most unhinged posts of random weirdos but Republicans are never called to answer for the actions of their elected representatives.
Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, just introduced a bill to ban Americans from holding dual citizenship. The bill says that to “preserve the integrity of national citizenship, allegiance to the United States must be undivided.” It’s called the Exclusive Citizenship Act.

Cognition is simultaneously about what you know and also what you allow yourself to know.

The problem for democracy is that people who know lots of things think that everyone else wants to do so.
Imagining that the climate battle is about *information* -- that those who have good information will act; that those who aren't acting must be lacking information -- has been utterly disastrous for decades now, but advocates & pols can't seem to break out of it.

I hope you're having a happy Thanksgiving. Here's a great piece from @kaliholloway.bsky.social on how Turkey Day was long opposed by white evangelicals as a holiday for woke Yankees www.thenation.com/article/soci...
Make Thanksgiving Radical Again
The holiday’s real roots lie in abolition, liberation, and anti-racism. Let’s reconnect to that legacy.

Texas is the best possible proof that people do not vote on issues. There is no "Islamic invasion" of the United States and there were fewer than 10 trans athletes out of more than 550,000 NCAA athletes.
A prominent Texas Republican is running for Railroad Commission in order to fight the "Islamic invasion." He's vying for a seat vacated by a former commissioner, who is now running for Texas Comptroller on a vow to protect girls' sports.

this dumb shit is what i mean when i say this is a purely aesthetic “politics.” yeah man, why can’t we have a fusion of cosmopolitan social democracy and revanchist hierarchies of wealth and privilege? tough question.
Matt Stoller: “..Trump & Mamdani defeated establishment in their own way, representing hunger of voters on the right & left who want something different. If those sides cd come together.. that would be a sea change in how we organize our political economy”.

It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

It sounds outrageous on the surface: We need more women in office even if they’re terrible. But let’s be brutally honest: we’ve tolerated terrible men in office for centuries. Mediocre men. Corrupt men. Dangerous, incompetent, impulsive, self-serving men.
We Need More Women in Office—Even if They’re Terrible
Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Nancy Mace aren’t exactly feminist firebrands, but they didn’t need to be to defy Trump.
