"Lava River Cave" in Northern Arizona, USA, is a mile long.

It was formed ~700,000 years ago during a lava flow in the San Francisco Volcanic Field. As the lava river flowed, its exposed surface cooled and hardened. The molten lava beneath kept flowing, then draining away, leaving a hollow tube
It's a photograph of a man's silhouette in a cave. His arms spread wide, giving a strong sense of the cave's 30 foot width and 20 foot height. Lighting in front of the person, from his headlamp. There is warm illumination across the curved basalt ceiling. You can see the classic ropy, flow-lined texture of a cooled lava tube. The floor is uneven, covered with angular rockfall and breakdown — typical for older lava tubes in the Southwest. The tunnel shape is a long, arched barrel vault, created as the outer lava crust solidified while molten lava kept flowing through. Bright patches on ceiling, are calcium deposits or residues left by moisture percolating through basalt.

It's a photo of snowy white flowers and in a cluster of six. Each flower has five narrow petals that are widely spaced, giving the flower a "star" or "pinwheel" appearance. The center of each flower contains a ring of multiple greenish-yellow stamens, and styles in the middle. The center appears The Leaves are arranged alternatively, and are green serrated edges. Underneath, the thin branch has a reddish-pink hue.

It has an upright posture typical of flycatchers, often perched on open posts like this one while scanning for insects. This species is common in open, semi-arid habitats across the southwestern U.S., Mexico, and Central and South America.

A well-preserved cinder cone volcano of basaltic andesite. The structure features a steep-sided cone and a long, distinct lava flow extending to the north, which is visible as the dark, rugged area stretching across the plain in the left.

The colors and patterns are aposematic warning that they are distasteful to birds. They are full, sometimes allowing for close photograph. Yes they also have fast and evasive flight.

Hymenoxys hoopesii is a species of flowering plant in the daisy family known by the common names:

• Owl's Claws
• Orange Sneezeweed
• Yerba del Lobo (herb of the wolf)
• Goddam Dirty-hippy Sunflower.

I love my calm cattle-dog. He is opposite of the breeding's intention, which is likely why he was abandoned in the desert.

He's the capybara of dogs. Calm and trustworthy.

Earlier, a cow walked by him, just two feet away. He just stayed there and watched her pass. See cow tracks in the comments.
