This is just such an improbable pink color for a wasp. Digonogastra, from west Texas, specimen in the UT insect collection.

Wow- proud of Ireland, but that's a very eye-opening map. Thinking especially of the journalists in Palestine and Sudan at the moment.

cleaning up our first batch of Keyence images, IMO you can't get a better test subject than a tingid
Literally the first picture we took with the new imager, lines are from the rep showing us how to do measurements. It's a lace bug (Tingidae), maybe something close to Calotingis? Zoom in on the bulbous head/pronotum doohickey of the lace bug. It appears to be empty. close up image of individual compound eye of the lace bug. Each facet is about 10 um across.

Quackolini wants to delay Hep B shots until age 12. Problem: the danger is vertical transmission at birth, when 9 in 10 infections become lifelong. That’s not a health plan—it’s an epidemiology experiment with your child as the control group.

The last time the administration recklessly hawked a drug as a cure-all for something it hadn’t been shown to do, numerous people taking HCQ lost access to their meds - and the HCQ harmed the Covid patients it was used on.

Now with leucovorin, a similar shortage with subsequent harm(s) may occur

Had a friend tell me today her colleague (with family, I assume) had to pay ~$8k to get back from Brazil within the 24 h they had. Or else they couldn't get back in. It's so awful.
