Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

HAPPY TAX DAY!
How much would you spend on a year of tornado warnings? The average US taxpayer spends only $4 a year to help fund the NWS. It’s a smart investment—every $1 invested in NWS yields approx. $73 in social benefits.
🌪️❄️ Support science. Support the NWS.
Stay tuned for more this #TaxDay

I guess I’m not understanding some things, but why are federal agencies giving these #DOGEdouche boys access to whatever systems they want? They don’t have legal authorization for it do they? I must be missing something…

Congress: “Will you break the law if the President tells you to?”

Nominee: “That’s for me to know and you to find out.”

An accurate headline would read:

"In a blow to consumers, federal appeals court substitutes its judgment for FCC expertise and rule-making authority to allow internet providers to manipulate access to information for greater profit."

This is journalism malpractice, full stop. @cnn.com should be ashamed.

If you see a long time business going out of business, odds are decent private equity bought them, stole all the cash, and closed them. Leaving debtors without payment and employees without jobs or severance.

Private equity is legalized stealing. And I have an MBA in Finance and was taught this.

When will the media start paying attention to this stuff?
I think this should be kind of a big deal: Elon Musk tweeting at 1:03am, “Only the AfD can save Germany.”

The AfD is Germany’s neo-Nazi party.

Tell me again how private insurance companies are improving health care in the US…
"Deny, deny, deny. That's how you hit your numbers."

Read @propublica.org's seminal series on how insurance giants like United and Cigna systematically, cruelly—and very, very profitably—deny health coverage every day, at the expense of patients' lives.
Uncovered
Health insurers reject millions of claims for treatment every year in America. Corporate insiders, recordings and internal emails expose the system and its harm.

The whole issue around the trans volleyball player from @sjsuathletics.bsky.social baffles me. Still haven’t seen a reason for opponents to have an issue, besides somebody screamed about it this season.
