Genocide isn’t genocide. America is a democracy. Capitalism is good. Voting will save you. The gaslight list is endless.

The kids aren't "wayward". The capitalist societies they're raised in just neglects them. Good thing about third spaces is that kids can be guided there. There can be fun/educational activities for them to do. And most importantly, they teach both kids and adults about the importance of community.

Marxism doesn’t blame humans for being "selfish" by nature, or whatever bullshit the capitalist ruling class likes to spew. Marxism asks: What conditions are shaping this (selfish) behaviour? Who built them? Who benefits?

Change the conditions, and suddenly “human nature” looks very different.

For Black people especially, this lie does extra work. We’re forced to survive inside violent systems, and when survival requires distrust or guardedness, it’s pathologised as cultural or personal failure. This messed up system pits us against one another and then blames us for trying to survive.
