Arguing about what OSR is is a lot less interesting than making something OSRish and sharing it with us all.

En route to London and started keying a small dungeon on the train. I love watching a set of empty boxes turn into a living, breathing space on the page. If I ever stop being surprised by my own writing I'll be very sad.

For some real OSR discourse, consider that Level 1 magic users having one spell they can cast once before they need to sleep is kinda bullshit. Make magic more interesting than that.

One of my favourite things to do in my games is drop in old favourite NPCs.

Last night my players arrived at a shop to find it was owned by a recurring character from a campaign which ended over a year ago!

Joyful surprise ensued. Don't underestimate the power of sentimentality!

Elves, dwarves, etc., can only speak their instinctual language. This essential inability to communicate has led to many disagreements between these peoples.
