no yeah it. really bothers me. it's part of why i still haven't finished pikmin 4 (that and some of the gameplay changes). Nintendo had a series with relatively consistent lore/timeline stuff and then HAD to fuck it up. PIKMIN TAKES PLACE AFTER HUMANITY IS EXTINCT

does miyamoto not know that pikmin takes place after all humans seemingly died? every time he talks about pikmin he acts like the pikmin are fairy tale creatures and not a game where you kill animals and steal their corpses to grow more pikmin

I think I liked Pikmin better when it was about very tiny middle aged salarymen exploring an empty, lonesome far-future earth and writing silently in little diaries, and humans were not acknowledged, but oh well; if that's what they want to do with it, sure. It's like totoro I guess
