Plenty of snow on the ground, and more on the way. May be a good day for a fire in the wood stove.

Beautifully said, Miles.

P.S. I did my usual one hour walk every morning this week, thanks to my yaktrax
In light of recent events, I wrote about why we should go outside more often when the weather is not looking good.

So what’s the deal, practically speaking, once there is no penny. After you’re charged sales tax, will they round up? Round down?

I’ve been really spoiled because our school district provides school supplies, so back to school shopping has been nonexistent. Apparently that’s not true once they hit junior high, though. I just got the school supply list and 😳

Getting old sucks. I love riding rollercoasters and today I discovered that my vestibular system can’t handle it like in the past. 😩

It was one of those perfectly warm and breezy evenings — summer in Boston doesn’t get much better and it was nice to enjoy it outside listening to live music

It’s one of those months when it feels really good to sit and read in the sunroom …at least until tomorrow’s heat wave.

LUCE's petition demanding that Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey protect our immigrant communities has 3,310 signatures out of a goal of 20,000.

I know Massachusetts Bluesky can get that number over 5,000 by the end of the day.

Why is the media saying that US citizens are being “deported”? Where to exactly? Deportation implies you’re being sent back to your country of origin but if your country is the US, then where is that to, exactly? Let’s call it what it is— imprisoning innocent people without reason or a trial.

Does anyone have a link to the number of graduate student deportations in the US that have occurred annually for, say, the last 25 years? I’m guessing there was an uptick around 9/11. Google is failing me (as it reliably does these days). Maybe the Chronicle of Higher Education keeps track?
